About the BCLA

Who We Are

The Bangladeshi Canadian Lawyers Association (BCLA) is a professional association for lawyers of Bangladeshi heritage in Canada.

Our members share roots in Bangladesh and are committed to justice, professional excellence and service to the communities we come from and the country we call home.

What We Do

Four areas of work guide our programs, events and volunteer efforts.

Mentorship

We pair newly called lawyers with experienced practitioners for guidance on building a practice, finding work and developing a career.

Professional Development

CPD programs, panels and networking events with members of the bench, the bar and other diverse bar associations.

Public Legal Education

Plain-language information sessions, in English and Bengali, on immigration, family, housing, employment and criminal law.

Advocacy

A voice for equity, diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and on legal issues that affect the Bangladeshi Canadian community.
